Ingredients
- 800 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 4 whole grain baguette slices (about 15-20 cm each)
- 6 large lettuce leaves
- mayonnaise
- 0.5 cucumber
- 4 Carrots
- 1 tbsp finely chopped basil
- 0.5 lemon (juice)
- sugar
- olive oil

Peel and finely chop the onion, sauté in a little oil until translucent, then mix with the ground beef, salt, parsley, and pepper; knead well. Shape into round flatbreads about 2 cm thick. Heat fat in a heavy pan and fry the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side.

Peel and grate the carrots. Mix with basil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, ½ tsp sugar, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 3 tbsp water. Wash and thinly slice or julienne the cucumber. Wash lettuce leaves, dry, and cut into fine strips.

Cut each baguette slice crosswise in the middle and lightly toast the cut surfaces under the oven grill. Spread 1-2 tbsp mayonnaise on one half of each slice, top with lettuce, a burger, cucumber, and carrot salad, then cover with the other half of bread. Serve immediately. Additional salads can be served alongside.
