Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 80 g finely grated dark chocolate
- 200 g ground walnuts
- 80 g ground almonds
- 220 g powdered sugar
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp ground cloves
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 50 peeled walnut halves
Instructions

Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until creamy, not stiff. Mix the chocolate with the nuts, powdered sugar and spices, then fold in the egg whites to form a smooth batter. If desired, stir in additional ground almonds. Shape the batter into two rolls (about 3 cm diameter), roll them in sugar, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C with upper and lower heat.

Cut the rolls into 1‑cm thick slices, place on a parchment‑lined baking tray, top each slice with a walnut half, and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove, let cool, and serve.
