Warm Apple Cake
The warm apple cake by Spoonsparrow is beautifully moist and will delight you!
Ingredients
- 100 g butter
- 80 g coconut palm sugar
- 0.5 tsp vanilla powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 eggs (size M)
- 0.5 Organic lemon
- 2 tbsp Maple syrup
- 200 g Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon powder
- 50 g apple sauce
- 3 tbsp Milk (3.5% fat)
- 800 g apples
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds

Beat butter with coconut palm sugar until fluffy, add vanilla powder and salt. Whisk in eggs one at a time. Wash lemon hot, dry, grate zest and squeeze juice. Add lemon zest to the butter mixture and stir.

Sift flour with baking powder and cinnamon; fold alternately with apple sauce and milk into the butter batter until smooth. Peel, halve, core apples and cut fine slits on the surface. Mix apple halves with lemon juice and maple syrup.

Pour batter into a greased loaf pan if needed, level the top and place apple halves skin side down on the dough. Sprinkle sunflower seeds over the top and bake in preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for about 50 minutes.
