Vegan Naan Bread

The vegan naan bread from Spoonsparrow is a great addition to a warming curry or with a tasty dip – give it a try!

Ingredients

  • 300 g spelt flour type 1050 (+ 2 tbsp for handling)
  • 4 g dry yeast
  • 1 tsp rice syrup
  • 50 g coconut yogurt
  • Salt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

    Combine spelt flour, dry yeast, rice syrup, coconut yogurt, salt and 1 tbsp olive oil with 100 ml lukewarm water; knead into a smooth dough for 10 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes until the volume has roughly doubled.

    Divide the dough into six equal pieces and roll each into a flatbread about 0.5 cm thick.

    Heat the remaining oil in a pan and cook the vegan naan breads over high heat for about 2 minutes on each side.
