Vanille-Tonka-Kipferl from Spoonsparrow: The tonka bean highlights the fine almond note wonderfully!

Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 75 g sugar
  • 80 g ground almonds
  • 200 g Flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 packets bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 3 tsp tonka bean

Instructions

    Cut butter into pieces and mix with sugar, almonds, flour and salt until a smooth dough forms. Shape into a ball, cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough into small pieces, roll them into sticks, taper the ends and shape into half-moons.

    Place the kipferl on the baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for about 10–12 minutes.

    Mix vanilla sugar with tonka bean carefully. Remove the kipferl from the baking sheet, roll them while still warm in the sugar mixture, and let them cool completely.
