Ingredients

  • 300 g peeled nuts (1/3 almonds, hazelnuts, walnut kernels)
  • 150 g dried figs
  • 150 g mixed candied fruits
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g honey
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.25 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 150°C fan‑forced. Toast the almonds and nuts in a dry pan, stirring briefly. Let cool and roughly chop. Dice the figs and candied fruits into small cubes, place them in a bowl, and mix with the spices and nuts.

  2. 2.

Place powdered sugar and honey in a metal bowl over a gentle simmering water bath. Stir constantly on low heat until the mixture melts and draws threads; then let it cool slightly while stirring. Fold the honey solution into the prepared nut‑fruit mixture and stir in 1–2 tbsp flour and cocoa powder.

  3. 3.

Line a shallow, round pan with parchment paper, pour in the dough, and smooth the surface. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Let cool. Dust with powdered sugar for garnish and cut into pieces to serve.
