Turkish Beef Skewers
Turkish beef skewers with bell pepper: The Turkish beef skewers form a healthy duo with bell pepper.
Ingredients
- 350 g beef (from the hip)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pinch cumin
- 1 tsp Pul Biber
- 3 sprigs Mint
- 0.5 lemon
- 150 g Yogurt (0.3% fat)
- 4 tbsp sparkling mineral water
- Salt
- Pepper
- 500 g Turkish bell pepper
- 2 shallots
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 160 g tomatoes (2 tomatoes)
- 175 ml classic vegetable broth

Cut the meat into 2 cm cubes.

Mix the meat cubes with 1 tbsp olive oil, cumin, and Pul Biber in a bowl. Marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, wash and dry the mint, remove leaves and chop. Squeeze 2 tsp lemon juice from the lemon. In a bowl whisk yogurt, lemon juice, mineral water, mint, salt, and pepper; refrigerate.

Clean, deseed, wash the bell pepper and cut into 2 cm wide pieces. Peel and finely chop shallots and garlic. Wash and halve the tomatoes.

Thread the meat onto four wooden skewers.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a roasting pan. Sauté onions and garlic for 4 minutes over low heat. Add the bell pepper and sauté for 2 minutes.

Pour in the broth, add tomatoes, season with salt and pepper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (180°C fan) on the middle rack for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in a grill pan. Season the beef skewers with salt and sear each side for 1 minute, then remove.

After 10 minutes, add the skewers to the bell pepper mixture and bake for another 7 minutes, then remove. Serve with yogurt.
