Ingredients
- 1 chicken (about 1.4 kg, ready to cook)
- Salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 vegetable onion
- 2 tsp grated orange zest
- juice of one orange
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 Cloves
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 400 g okra pods
Instructions

Soak the Romertopf. Cut the chicken into 8 pieces and rub with salt, pepper, and olive oil.

Peel and dice the onion. Rinse the orange under hot water. Mix the tomatoes with their juice, orange juice, and zest; season with salt and pepper and briefly puree once.

Wash and trim the okra pods.

Place the chicken pieces in the Romertopf, add onion, tomato mixture, cinnamon stick, cloves, and peppercorns. Seal the Romertopf and place it in a cold oven. Set the oven to 200 °C and braise for about 1½ hours. Add the okra in the last 15 minutes and cover until cooked.

Remove from the oven, taste again, and serve with okra.
