Ingredients

  • 100 g sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 200 g cold butter
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • vanilla sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Sift flour with sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest on a work surface, create a well, pour in the egg, and distribute cold butter around in small pieces.

    Break everything into crumbs with a large knife.

    Quickly knead the crumbs by hand, wrap in plastic film, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

    Press the dough slightly flat on a floured surface, then roll out to about 3–4 mm thickness.

    Use a star‑shaped cutter to cut cookies, place them on parchment paper on a baking tray, bake at 180 °C fan‑forced for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.

    While still hot, transfer the cookies onto a cooling rack with a spatula and dust with vanilla sugar. Let cool.
