Ingredients
- 70 g soft butter
- 200 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 100 ml milk
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 300 g flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 75 g cocoa powder
- 80 g chocolate shavings
- 12 paper cupcake liners
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 8 licorice twists
- 12 mini chocolate kisses (whole milk)
- 5 pieces licorice candy
- orange sugar pearls (for the eyes)
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 160°C. Place the paper cupcake liners in a muffin tin.
-
2.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until fluffy, then briefly fold in the egg. Add the milk and vinegar and stir quickly.
-
3.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, cocoa and chocolate shavings, add to the butter mixture and mix for about 1 minute to form dough.
-
4.
Fill the liners about three-quarters full with the batter and bake for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown. Let the cupcakes rest in the tin for a few minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack.
-
5.
Sift the powdered sugar and whisk with lemon juice to make a thick glaze. Roll out the licorice twists and cut eight "legs" for each spider. Attach the licorice pieces to the center of each cupcake with the glaze. Glue a mini chocolate kiss onto each, also using glaze. Slice the licorice candy into rounds, stick them on top with glaze, and attach orange sugar pearls with a drop of glaze.
