Spicy Vegetable Soup with Tamarind

Ingredients
- 800 g potatoes
- 200 g okra pods
- 2 Bananas
- 0.5 tsp Fennel seeds
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 0.5 tsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 5 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbsp chickpea flour
- Salt
- 4 tbsp tamarind paste

Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Wash, trim, and halve the okra pods lengthwise.

Peel the bananas and slice them. In a mortar, crush the fennel seeds with cumin and coriander. Add turmeric and sauté in hot ghee. Add the potatoes and okra, dust with chickpea flour, then deglaze with about 750 ml water. Simmer for approximately 15 minutes. Then add tamarind paste and bananas, simmer for another 5-10 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and serve with rice or bread as desired.
