Spicy Rice Stir-Fry
Try the spicy rice stir-fry from Spoonsparrow!
Ingredients
- 300 g long grain rice
- Salt
- 2 red onions
- 2 Spring Onions
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 2 Celery stalks
- 250 g broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp peanut oil
- Pepper
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 5-spice mix
Instructions

Cook the rice in salted water according to package instructions.

While the rice cooks, peel and slice the onions into strips. Wash and trim the spring onions, cut them into rings leaving some green. Slice the green part into thin strips for garnish and set aside.

Wash and trim the bell peppers, cutting them into 2 cm pieces. Cut the celery into 4 cm long thin strips. Rinse the broccoli florets and drain.

Blanch the broccoli in boiling salted water for 2–4 minutes. Drain, shock with cold water, and let dry.

Heat oil in a pan. Stir-fry all the vegetables over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Add the cooked rice, stir for 2 minutes. Season with pepper, soy sauce, and 5-spice mix to taste. Divide into four bowls and garnish with reserved spring onion strips.
