Spicy Potato Cheesecake

The spicy potato cheesecake from Spoonsparrow is perfect for a cozy dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg waxy potatoes
  • 300 g Bergkäse cheese
  • 4 fresh cloves of garlic
  • 150 g crème fraîche
  • 150 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
  • ground pepper from the mill
  • nutmeg
  • Salt
  • 1 egg

    Peel, wash, and slice the potatoes into very thin rounds or shave them. Grate the cheese. Butter the pan if needed. Layer overlapping potato slices on the bottom of the pan. Add a layer of cheese and cover with another layer of potatoes. Continue layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese.

    Peel and finely chop the garlic. Whisk together milk, crème fraîche, and egg; season with pepper, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Pour over the potato layers so everything is just covered. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C (150 °C fan or gas level 1–2) for about one hour until golden brown. If the cake darkens too much, cover it promptly.
