Spicy Chicken Wings with Dip

- 1.2 kg chicken wings
- 1 large onion
- 4 Garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 0.5 tsp cumin (ground)
- 0.5 tsp ground allspice
- 0.5 tsp ground coriander seeds
- thyme ¼ tsp dried
- oregano ¼ tsp dried
- 2 dried red chili peppers
- 500 g crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 2 tbsp cane sugar
- Salt
- black pepper freshly ground
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp orange liqueur
- 4 pickled green chilies
- 200 g Sour Cream

Wash chicken wings, trim the tips and pat dry.

Peel and finely chop onion and garlic. In a pot heat oil, sauté onions and garlic until softened. Crush spices, herbs and chilies in a mortar and add to the tomato mixture; simmer with the onion-garlic base for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with sugar, salt, pepper, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and orange liqueur.

Brush chicken wings with about one‑third of the tomato sauce. Grill each side on a hot grill for approximately 8–10 minutes until browned and crispy.

Arrange chicken wings on a platter and drizzle with remaining tomato sauce. Garnish with sliced pickled chilies. Whisk sour cream and serve alongside.
