Speculoos Cookies

You don't have a speculaas mold? Then simply bake these speculaas cookies for Spoonsparrow cutouts!

Ingredients

  • 100 g raw cane sugar
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • a pinch salt
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 100 g Ground Almonds
  • 70 g almond flakes

Instructions

    Beat butter with sugar, egg and salt until fluffy, fold in flour, baking powder, spices and almonds, knead well, shape into a ball and wrap in cling film for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator.

    Line baking trays with parchment paper and sprinkle almond flakes. Roll dough to about 4 mm thick on a floured surface, cut out star shapes and place them on the almond flakes, press lightly.

    Bake speculaas cookies in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan, gas: level 3) for 10–12 minutes. Let cool completely.
