Simple cocktail sauce goes well with many main dishes, whether salad, seafood or meat. Try the recipe from Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh egg yolks
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 250 ml olive oil
  • 20 ml cognac
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

    When making the mayonnaise it is important that all ingredients are at room temperature. Whisk the egg yolks with salt, mustard and 1 tbsp lemon juice vigorously. Then gradually whisk in a few drops of oil with a whisk or hand mixer, followed by slowly adding the oil in a thin stream, but only enough so that the mixture immediately binds to the yolk and becomes a thick, creamy mayonnaise.

    Stir in the cognac and ketchup, then season with salt and cayenne pepper.
