Ingredients

  • 800 g shrimp
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 stalks coriander
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 1 small chili pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 500 ml neutral vegetable oil
  • 1 jar sweet-sour spicy sauce (from the Asian store)

    Peel the shrimp, remove head and tail, discard the vein, and finely chop. Wash the chili pepper, deseed it, and slice into thin strips.

    Peel the garlic, wash the coriander, trim the roots. Mash the garlic, chili, and coriander with salt and pepper in a mortar. Add the shrimp meat and process into a paste. Mix in the egg thoroughly. Shape about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into patties roughly 5 cm wide. Heat oil, fry the shrimp patties for about 2 minutes until golden yellow, then drain on kitchen paper. Serve with sweet-sour spicy sauce.
