Serbian Rice and Meat
This Serbian rice and meat dish with turkey, peppers & tomatoes from Spoonsparrow is filling and also ideal for taking away!
Ingredients
- 500 g Turkey breast fillet
- 400 g red bell peppers (2 red bell peppers)
- 2 onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika powder (sweet)
- 1 tsp Paprika powder (hot)
- 200 g Long grain rice
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 600 ml Poultry broth
- 400 g Canned plum tomatoes
Instructions

Rinse the turkey breast, pat dry and cut into 2 cm cubes.

Quarter the bell peppers, remove seeds, wash and dice. Peel and finely dice the onions, peel and finely chop the garlic.

Heat the oil in a heavy pot and brown the meat over high heat. Season the meat with salt and pepper.

Add the onions, garlic and bell peppers to the pot and fry for another minute.

Sprinkle with paprika powder.

Add the rice and stir in the tomato paste.

Fill with broth and canned tomatoes and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer over medium heat with frequent stirring for 20 minutes. Season the Serbian rice and meat with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
