Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 4 pork steaks (about 160 g each)
  • Salt
  • colored pepper (from grinder)
  • 2 tbsp plant oil
  • 100 ml dry white wine
  • 200 ml meat broth
  • 200 ml whipping cream
  • 2 sprigs thyme

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel the onions and garlic. Slice half an onion into rings for garnish; finely dice the rest with the garlic. Season the pork steaks with salt and colored pepper, then sear them in hot oil in a pan until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and sauté the diced onion and garlic in the drippings. Deglaze with wine, reduce briefly, then add broth. Simmer with a thyme sprig for about 5 minutes, strain through a sieve, bring to a boil, and stir in cream. Let it thicken into a creamy sauce for a few more minutes. Season with salt and colored pepper. Tear the remaining thyme leaves into the sauce. Leave the steak slices whole or halve them and let them finish cooking in the sauce for a few minutes.

  2. 2.

Sprinkle with the remaining onion rings before serving.
