- 2 onions
- 350 g potatoes
- 3 sour apples (e.g., Boskop)
- 7 slices breakfast bacon
- 2 tsp oil
- 150 ml apple juice
- 750 ml vegetable broth
- 5 stems marjoram
- Salt
- Pepper

Peel and dice onions, potatoes, and 2 apples. Dice 3 slices of bacon and fry in hot oil. Add onions, apples, and potatoes; sauté briefly and deglaze with apple juice and broth. Simmer on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes.

Core one apple with an apple corer and slice into rings. Fry remaining bacon in a pan without added fat until crisp, drain on paper towels, then fry the apple rings in the bacon fat for 2 minutes per side.
