Sauerkraut Soup

Ingredients

  • 200 g sauerkraut
  • 50 g smoked ham
  • 200 g pork meat
  • 100 g potatoes
  • 50 g onions
  • 1 l water
  • 30 g mushrooms
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 5 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • allspice
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 Garlic clove

Instructions

    Cut the bacon into cubes and brown it in a pot without additional fat. Dice the onion, add it to the bacon and sauté until translucent. Sprinkle with paprika powder, then pour in the water. Add sauerkraut, salt, pepper, mushrooms, sugar, crushed garlic, and stir in the sour cream. Let it simmer gently.

    Cut the pork into cubes and add to the soup; simmer for about 10 minutes. Grate the potatoes and use them to thicken the soup, then bring back to a boil. Season with salt and pepper and serve with bread.
