  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 200 g green olives (filled as desired)
  • 100 g cheese (grated)
  • 250 ml meat broth
  • 200 ml whipping cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • Cumin

Instructions

Drain the sauerkraut well if necessary.

  2. 2.

Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings.

  3. 3.

    Slice the olives into rings.

  4. 4.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices or grate them with a grater.

Grease a baking dish with butter and lay a thin layer of sauerkraut. Then alternate layers of potato slices, onion rings, and sauerkraut. Season each layer repeatedly with salt, pepper, and cumin, and sprinkle olives on top. Finally pour in the meat broth and cream (everything should be just covered when pressed). Sprinkle with cheese and remaining olives and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
