- 2 cups water
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt
- 1 plantain
- 3 tbsp oil

Bring rice and water to a boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed. Peel and finely chop the onion; sauté in oil, season with salt, and mix into the cooked rice. Peel the plantain and slice it into rounds.
