Ingredients

  • 1 kg asparagus
  • 0.5 untreated lemon slice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 20 g butter
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

    Peel the asparagus with an asparagus or parsnip peeler from the head to the ends, cutting off any woody tips. Add the lemon, salt and sugar to a wide pot of boiling water and let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes.

    Melt the butter and drizzle it over the freshly cooked, drained asparagus before serving.
