Potato Savoy Cabbage Gratin

The Potato Savoy Cabbage Gratin from Spoonsparrow is real soul food for cold autumn days.

Ingredients

  • 800 g savoy cabbage
  • 700 g waxy potatoes
  • 400 ml milk (1.5% fat)
  • 400 ml Vegetable broth
  • 2 Eggs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 5 g Butter (1 tsp)
  • 50 g Gouda cheese

Instructions

    Clean the savoy cabbage, quarter it, remove the tough core and cut the leaves into strips. Peel, wash the potatoes and slice them thinly with a mandoline. Mix milk with broth and eggs, seasoning with salt, pepper and freshly grated nutmeg.

    Grease a baking dish with butter and layer the savoy cabbage and potato slices, starting with cabbage and finishing with potatoes. Pour the egg mixture over the layers. Grate Gouda on top and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan; gas: level 3) for about 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
