Potato Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 kg waxy potatoes
  • 0.5 l milk
  • 50 g crème double
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 150 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • butter (for the dish)

Instructions

    Peel the garlic clove. Rub baking dishes with the garlic, then grease them with butter. Wash, peel and slice the potatoes into very thin rounds. Layer potato slices in the baking dish. Whisk together milk, cheese and crème double, season with salt and pepper, and pour over the potatoes. The potatoes should be almost covered; you may add a little more cream if desired.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) on both top and bottom heat for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
