- 500 g smoked mackerel fillet
- 500 g waxy potatoes
- 250 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat)
- 100 g low-fat quark
- 50 g freshly grated cheese (e.g., Gouda)
- 2 Eggs
- Salt
- pepper (ground)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C with upper and lower heat. Cut the mackerel fillets into bite‑sized pieces. Peel, wash, and slice or shave the potatoes thinly.

Whisk together the cream, quark, cheese, and eggs; season with salt and pepper.

Layer the potato slices and mackerel pieces in a buttered baking dish and pour over the cream mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
