Polish-Style Dried Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 700 g mixed dried fruit (apricots, plums, pears, apples,…)
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • Sugar to taste

Instructions

    Soak the dried fruit in 2 liters of cold water for 12 hours (overnight).

    Add the cinnamon and vanilla pod. Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring, then simmer vigorously for about 20-25 minutes. Adjust sweetness with sugar if desired. Spoon the compote into jars, let cool, and refrigerate for several hours.
