Pickled Peppers and Paprika

Ingredients

  • 400 g peppers
  • 600 g small bell peppers
  • 250 g onions
  • 1 packet pickling aid
  • 0.5 l wine vinegar
  • 0.125 l water
  • 750 g sugar
  • Salt
  • peppercorns

Instructions

    Wash the peppers. Peel the onions and cut them into rings. Mix the ingredients for the vinegar-sugar solution, bring to a boil, add the peppers and onions, and simmer for about 30 minutes.

    Wash the bell peppers, halve them and cut into wedges. After 20 minutes add the paprika. Taste with a bit of sugar, remove from heat and stir in one packet of pickling aid.

    Fill screw-cap jars up to the rim with the hot contents and seal immediately. Leave on the lid for several minutes.
