Pastry Rolls with Sausage Filling

Ingredients

  • 400 g puff pastry (frozen)
  • 500 g salsiccia
  • 0.5 tsp crushed chili flakes
  • flour (for dusting work surface)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

    Let the puff pastry thaw. Preheat the oven to 200°C with upper and lower heat.

    Remove the sausage from its casing, break it into pieces, and mix with the chili flakes.

    Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to a thickness of about 0.5 cm and cut into rectangles (about 10x5 cm). Place some sausage mixture on half of each strip, fold over the other half, and press together with a fork. Brush the tops with egg yolk, sprinkle pepper, and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove and serve warm.
