Pasta with Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 500 g farfalle
- 1.5 kg ripe tomatoes
- 1 small onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- Olive oil (extra virgin)
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)
- a pinch of cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- butter
- 2 tbsp basil (finely chopped)
- parmesan (grated)
Instructions

Wash the tomatoes, blanch them, peel and cut into small pieces. Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel the garlic.

Heat 3 tbsp olive oil in a large pan and gently sauté the onion. Add the tomatoes with 3 tbsp water and the garlic cloves. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and season with sugar, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Sprinkle basil on top and set aside covered.

Meanwhile, cook the pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Drain and mix with 1/2 tbsp butter, then add to the tomato sauce and stir well. Serve immediately, sprinkling parmesan as desired.
