Ingredients

  • 16 giant shrimp (peeled and deveined, except for the tail segment)
  • 1 sprig basil
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp chili oil
  • 2 tbsp basil oil
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 200 g spaghetti
  • Salt
  • chili and basil oil (for drizzling)

Instructions

    Wash and pat dry the shrimp. Rinse the basil, shake off excess water, pluck the leaves, and finely chop. Rinse the chili pepper, clean it, deseed, and finely chop. Peel the garlic, press into a shallow dish, and mix with both oils, lime juice, chopped chili, and basil. Toss the shrimp in the mixture and cover; refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

    Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Remove the shrimp from the marination, drain, and sauté in a pan turning for 3-4 minutes, seasoning lightly with salt. Optionally stir in 2-3 tbsp of the remaining marinade. Arrange the pasta on plates using a fork for decorative flair, top with the shrimp, drizzle with chili and basil oil if desired, and serve immediately.
