- 0.5 cube Yeast

- 4 tbsp warm milk
- 6 small eggs (room temperature)
- 1 pinch salt
- 400 g room-temperature butter

1.
Sift the flour into a large bowl and press a well in the center. Crumble the yeast into the well, add the sugar, and pour the warm milk over it. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes. Add the eggs, salt, and butter in chunks and knead everything into an elastic yeasted dough. Beat the dough vigorously to incorporate enough air. Shape the dough into a large ball and cover it with a floured bowl; let rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.

2.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Knead the dough again forcefully and shape it into another ball. Let rise for another 60 minutes. Cut a cross into the dough with a sharp knife and brush it with egg yolk. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dough on it. Bake in the hot oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. The loaf can be served warm or at room temperature.
