Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 300 g honey
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 untreated orange (grated zest)
  • 2 EL yogurt
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 TL baking powder
  • 200 g grated almond kernels
  • 2 Oranges (juice)
  • 20 ml orange liqueur
  • semolina breadcrumbs (for dusting)
  • powdered sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 untreated orange (for zest)

Instructions

    Beat the butter with 250 g honey, eggs, orange zest and yogurt until fluffy. Mix flour with baking powder and almonds and fold into the batter. Line a springform pan with parchment paper, grease it well and dust with semolina breadcrumbs.

    Pour the batter in, smooth the top and bake at 180 °C for 50 minutes. Let the cake cool in the pan, then transfer to a cooling rack and remove the parchment. Warm the orange juice with remaining honey and orange liqueur and let it cool.
