Ingredients

  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 6 Eggs
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 0.125 l milk
  • 1 lime (juice only)
  • 60 g dried lemon zest
  • 60 g dried orange zest
  • butter (for the pan)
  • breadcrumbs (for the pan)
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dried lemon zest

Instructions

    Grease and dust the pan with breadcrumbs.

    Beat butter until fluffy, add sugar and vanilla sugar, continue beating. Gradually fold in eggs until sugar dissolves. Mix flour and baking powder; sift onto batter, fold in, add 4 tbsp milk, sift more flour, repeat until smooth. Stir in lime juice, finely chopped dried lemon zest, and orange zest. Pour batter into pan, level surface, bake at 180°C (fan) for about 1 hour or until done. Let cool, unmold.

    Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice to a thick consistency and pour lightly over the cake. Sprinkle with dried lemon zest and let set.
