Ingredients

  • 400 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • 180 g barley grits (or rolled barley)
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 sprigs fresh oregano

Instructions

    Bring the milk with about 800 ml water, the oil and a pinch of salt to a boil in a pot. Add the barley and simmer gently for 20-25 minutes. Then add the dried oregano and cook for another 5 minutes.

    Season with salt and serve on plates. Rinse the fresh oregano, pluck the leaves and scatter them over the soup.
