Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 day-old bread roll
- 1 egg
- 1 onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 bunch Basil
- 200 g mozzarella
- 250 g tomatoes
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)

Soak the bread roll in lukewarm water, squeeze out excess liquid, and mix with ground beef, egg, salt, and pepper. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Wash basil, pluck leaves, reserve some for garnish, and chop the rest. Drain mozzarella and dice finely.

Heat tomatoes briefly, cool, peel, quarter, deseed, dice, and fold into the meat mixture. Shape into balls and fry in olive oil for about 10 minutes on all sides, garnishing with remaining basil.
