Ingredients

  • 800 g mixed ground meat
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • olive oil
  • 6 thyme sprigs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp sharp mustard
  • breadcrumbs
  • 4 bell peppers
  • Salt
  • pepper (from grinder)

Instructions

    Peel and finely chop the shallots and garlic. Sauté in 2 tbsp hot olive oil until fragrant, then let cool slightly. Mix with ground meat, eggs, and mustard. Remove leaves from two thyme sprigs and add to the mixture. Knead enough breadcrumbs until the mixture is well formed. Season with salt and pepper. Roll into small sausage‑shaped balls and place in a greased, oven‑proof dish.

    Wash the bell peppers, halve them, remove seeds and white membranes, then halve again. Arrange the meatball sausages on top of the peppers, season, sprinkle remaining thyme leaves, drizzle olive oil, and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30–35 minutes.
