Ingredients

  • 2 old-fashioned spelt rolls
  • 0.5 bunch Parsley
  • 70 g onions (1 onion)
  • 80 g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp mustard (spicy)
  • 800 g ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp marjoram (dried)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Slice the spelt rolls and soak them in slightly warm water.

  2. 2.

Wash, dry, and finely chop the parsley. Peel and dice the onion.

  3. 3.

Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent for 1–2 minutes; let cool slightly. Squeeze out excess water from the rolls. Mix the squeezed rolls, onions, eggs, mustard, parsley, and ground beef in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and marjoram. Knead well and shape into ten meatballs.

  4. 4.

Heat remaining butter in the pan, fry four meatballs at a time over medium heat for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Repeat until all are cooked.
