Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 tbsp plant oil
  • 700 g mixed ground meat
  • 300 g fresh peas
  • 100 ml dry red wine
  • 150 g chopped tomatoes
  • 100 ml beef broth
  • 1 tsp freshly chopped thyme
  • 1 tsp freshly chopped rosemary
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 2 egg yolks

    Let the puff pastry thaw. Peel and dice the onion, garlic, and carrot. Heat oil in a pan and brown the ground meat until crumbly. Add peas and diced vegetables, sauté briefly, deglaze with wine, then add tomatoes and broth. Stir in herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer on medium heat for 20-25 minutes.

    Spread the mixture into four pastry tins. Preheat oven to 180°C fan. Roll out puff pastry and cut four oval discs to fit the tins. Place as lids, press edges firmly, trim excess dough into decorative shapes, brush with beaten egg yolk. Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Remove and serve immediately.
