Ingredients

  • 4 matjes double fillets
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 onions
  • 4 pickles
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 400 g sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 0.125 l milk
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)

Instructions

    Peel the onion and cut into rings. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove seeds, and slice finely. Slice the pickles similarly.

    Whisk sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, and vinegar to make a dressing. Season with pickle juice, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over onions, apples, and pickles and mix well.

    Wash the matjes, pat dry, and cut into bite‑sized pieces at an angle. Fold in and serve immediately.
