Mashed Potatoes with Chicken Liver
Creamy mashed potatoes combined with tender chicken liver provide lasting satiety and a rich source of B vitamins for growing children.
Ingredients
- 360 g potatoes (4 medium)
- 100 g chicken liver
- 250 g large apples (1 large apple)
- 3 tbsp Rapeseed oil
Instructions
-
1.
Wash the potatoes and cook them with skins on for 20–25 minutes covered until tender.
-
2.
Meanwhile, clean the chicken livers, rinse, pat dry with kitchen paper, and cut into cubes.
-
3.
Wash the apple, quarter it, core it, and finely dice it as well.
-
4.
Place liver, apple, and 2 tbsp water in a small pot. Cover and simmer over low heat for 8–10 minutes until cooked through. Then puree with an immersion blender to a smooth consistency.
-
5.
Drain the potatoes, rinse under cold water, peel them, and press through a potato masher into the apple‑liver purée.
-
6.
Stir in rapeseed oil and a splash of water. Divide into four portions. Feed one portion immediately; freeze the remaining mash in individual servings and thaw quickly in the microwave or on the stove before serving.
