Marzipan Poppy Semolina Porridge with Orange Sauce
Marzipan Poppy Semolina Porridge with Orange Sauce from Spoonsparrow: Poppy gives the vegan treat a special twist!
Ingredients
- 2 oranges
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 50 g marzipan
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 500 ml almond milk
- 75 g whole grain spelt
- 1 pinch ground tonka bean
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp light almond butter (30 g)
Instructions

First, halve 1 orange and squeeze out the juice. Mix 2 tbsp of orange juice with cornstarch and set aside. Peel the other orange so that all the white pith is removed. Cut the fruit fillets between the membranes, collecting the juice.

Bring the orange juice to a boil, stir in the cornstarch and simmer for 1 minute over low heat. Add the orange fillets and remove from heat.

For the marzipan poppy semolina porridge, grate the marzipan finely. Wash the poppy seeds with warm water. Bring almond milk, poppy seeds, tonka bean and salt to a boil in another pot. Stir in the spelt with a whisk, simmer for 1 minute while stirring and remove the porridge from heat. Stir in the marzipan and almond butter.
