Mango Avocado Salad with Steak Strips

Ingredients

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Mango
  • 0.5 cucumber
  • 200 g beef fillet
  • 1 Herb sprig (e.g., bay leaf)
  • 2 EL oil
  • 1 EL lemon juice
  • 6 EL Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 EL Port wine
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

Instructions

    Peel mango and avocado, remove the pit and cut into strips. Drizzle with lemon juice.

    Wash cucumber (peel if desired), halve it, remove seeds and cut into ~5 cm long sticks.

    Rinse salad leaves, trim stems and arrange on a large or two small plates. Distribute cucumber sticks, avocado and mango over the greens.

    Slice beef fillet into strips and sear in hot oil for about 4 minutes on all sides. Remove and place on the salad.

    Deglaze the pan with balsamic vinegar and port wine, stirring to reduce to a thick sauce. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle over the salad. Sprinkle with pine nuts before serving.
