Ingredients

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g egg whites
  • 0.5 orange (unprocessed)
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 200 g ground almonds
  • 3 tbsp orange marmalade
  • small paper baking molds (chocolate cups)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 150°C. Distribute the paper molds on a sheet.

  2. 2.

Grate the chocolate finely and set aside.

  3. 3.

Whip the egg whites with grated orange zest and about 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice, gradually adding sugar and vanilla sugar until the mixture is very fluffy, firm, and glossy. Fold in the almonds with the chocolate.

  4. 4.

Spoon or pipe the macaron batter into the molds using two teaspoons or a piping bag without a tip. Place a small dollop of orange jam in the center of each macaron and bake slowly for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.

  5. 5.

Let the macarons cool and dust them with powdered sugar.
