Ingredients

  • 150 g flour
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (optional)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 4 eggs (separated)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 apples (e.g., Boskop)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

    Add the flour to a bowl, then add milk, cinnamon, sugar and egg yolks; stir slowly. Beat the egg whites with 1 pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, then fold into the batter.

    Wash, peel, quarter, core and slice the apples into wedges. Toss immediately with lemon juice.

    Heat oil in an oven‑proof skillet over high heat, pour in the batter, spread the apple slices on top, and bake for 1 minute at high temperature. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 10–12 minutes until the surface is dry and the bottom is golden brown.
