Ingredients

  • 500 g firm potatoes
  • 200 g horned noodles
  • Salt
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 300 ml whipping cream
  • 100 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • ground pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

    Peel and wash the potatoes, cut them into 1 cm cubes, and cook with the noodles in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, and let drain well. Peel the onions and slice them into thin strips.

    Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion strips until golden brown. Remove from heat, mix with the potatoes and noodles, and transfer to a greased baking dish. Whisk the cream with the cheese and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the potato‑noodle mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (160 °C fan or gas level 2–3) for about 20 minutes. Remove and serve immediately.
