Ingredients
- 500 g chicken liver
- 4 tbsp plant oil
- 2 onions
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 5 slices dark rye or whole grain bread
- lettuce leaves
- onion ring
- tomato slice
- chopped parsley

Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat the oil and sauté the onions until translucent. Remove the onions and brown the liver in the remaining fat for 10 minutes over medium heat. Pass the liver, onions, and hard-boiled egg yolks through a meat grinder.

Add salt and pepper and let cool. Cut bread slices into triangles, spread with the cold liver pâté, arrange on lettuce leaves, and garnish with onion rings, tomato slices, and parsley to serve as an appetizer.
