Ingredients

  • 300 ml lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 40 ml limoncello
  • 4 lemons

Instructions

    1. Boil 150 ml water with sugar until syrupy, then let it simmer down. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and Limoncello.

    2. Cool for about 30 minutes. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and pour into a shallow dish. Freeze for about 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes with a fork.

    3. Cut off the tops of the 4 lemons and scoop out the fruit flesh (use elsewhere). Rinse hot and freeze.

    4. Fill the lemon shells with sorbet and serve.
