Ingredients
- 300 g soft butter
- 300 g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 200 g Flour
- 100 g cornstarch
- 3 lemons (juice)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp finely grated lemon zest
- butter (for the pan)
- lemon zest strips (for decoration)
- flowers (for decoration)
Instructions

Whisk soft butter with sugar and eggs until thick and golden yellow.

Mix flour, baking powder, lemon zest, and cornstarch together and fold into the butter mixture.

Pour batter into a greased pan, smooth the surface, bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 50 minutes. If the cake darkens halfway through, cover with foil.

Remove finished cake (test with a needle), let cool in the pan for ~5 minutes, then release and cool on a wire rack.

Use a thin knitting needle to poke small holes deep into the cake. Mix lemon juice with 3 tbsp sugar and carefully pour over the holes. Garnish with lemon zest strips and flowers.
